Phi Phi Island, the third most beautiful island (lie around 45km from the mainland to the west, Phuket and east, Krabi) in the world invites many visitors every year. The mountains, coral reefs and fish, the small resort feel of the place give Phi Phi Island a special charisma. Shopping on Phi Phi, Krabi is very much enjoyable for tourists.
The best buy on the island are cool blue Phi Phi T-shirts. These shirts also come in a range of different colors including orange and yellow, but light blue looks the best. The tourist gift shops are situated in the thin central part of the island where you will see numerous gift shops clustered in a small area, each selling practically the same things.
With more and more local stalls and shops reopening, Phi Phi offers her visitors everything from handmade jewellery, attractive clothing, DVDs and CDs to handicrafts, sunglasses and sports equipment.
Snorkel and dive gear is also available to hire or buy, and there are currently two pharmacists stocked with anything you might need during your stay.
If you'd like to help the displaced locals, you can also buy scarves made on the mainland. 'The Children of Phi Phi Island', a book written by children and telling their own stories of the Tsunami, can also be bought. Proceeds go towards these children's education programmes and sustainable development.
There are a lot of shops to visit with a wide range of merchandise from clothing through to handicrafts. The prices are very reasonable and the shop owners are relaxed. In Tonsai Bay you will find Thai silks, wooden carvings, and wooden games all very cheap. Must try the banana and chocolate sauce pancakes. B y the side of the Ton Sai beach, many restaurants, dive shops, massage parlour are situated.
There are many small shops in Tonsai village, where you can buy (almost) everything you need from water to film rolls, beachwear, T-shirts, Thai handicrafts, silver ornaments.
